• A mid to large size firm hires one or more laterals to either form a new practice group or add to an existing practice group – what must they have? What optional coverage should they have?
• What does a firm need to address with its carrier if an employee is terminated or retires?

The tuition for NJSBA members is $160. The general tuition is $200.
CLE Credits: NJ CLE information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 6.7 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 1.2 qualify as hours of credit for ethics/professionalism
NJ CLE: This program has been approved for 3.3 credits (50 minute hour), including 1.2 ethics/professionalism credits
PA CLE: 1.5 substantive and 1.0 ethics credits pending ($12 fee separate check payable to NJICLE must be submitted at the end of the program)
NY CLE (t&nt): 2.0 professional practice and 1.0 ethics credits

A Lawyers Guide to Dealing with Difficult Clients and Impossible Adversaries on
Sept. 21 from
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the
Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel.Conflict is a part of life, and lawyers must learn how to handle people who seemingly thrive on making life difficult for others. Understanding what drives difficult people and how to best react to outbursts, threats, and intimidation is an essential skill for every lawyer.

• A review of the assessment criteria for personality disorders as detailed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).
• How to recognize and handle clients or adversaries experiencing Major Mood Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Pathological Anger, and Anxiety based disorders
• How to develop awareness of our self-defeating traits, thinking patterns, and behaviors which cause conflicts with our clients and adversaries.
