  • 1.  Anyone have an update on DV bar to Alimony?

    Posted 03-17-2017 11:17 AM

Back in  2015 I saw a proposed bill (S-2353) that would ban a court from awarding alimony to a person convicted of a crime involving domestic violence by the victim of that crime.

Does anyone know where this stands?
    Thanks!

S2353 did not move from committee assignment. It has been reintroduced this year As S525 (Beck)/A1193 (Mosquera). The bills remain pending in the Senate and Assembly Judiciary Committees. They have not moved since their introduction in this session in January 2016.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding legislation.
