Hello Family Law Section members,
On
Tuesday, Nov. 26, NJICLE in cooperation with the NJSBA Senior Lawyers Committee will present
Advanced Matrimonial Mediation Workshop from
9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the
New Jersey Law Center.Although this program is designed to fulfill the 4-hour annual requirement for court-approved mediators in matrimonial cases, it will also be
of interest to any family law practitioner seeking to enhance your mediation skills. Attendance at the program can also be used to fulfill the 4-hour annual requirement for court-approved mediators in the Civil, General Equity & Probate Program.
The AOC has directed those on the family economic mediator roster to confirm that they have completed the Annual Continuing Education set forth in R 1:40-12 (b)(2) concerning ethical issues associated with mediation practice, the program guidelines and case management. This program satisfies the AOC directive and the NJ Rule 1:40 training requirement.
The ability to effectively manage conflict is a critical skill for matrimonial lawyers. At this 4-hour workshop, a panel of mediators experienced in matrimonial cases will present proven strategies that can help you resolve conflicts between parties in a divorce proceeding. By participating in a combination of lectures, discussions, demonstration exercises and role plays, you'll have an immediate opportunity to practice your skills, and also learn how mediation is being implemented in the court system.
