  • 1.  2020 Symposium- Alimony

    Dear fellow members of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section:

     Please note in preparation for the Symposium and the panel on alimony, we are looking for feedback on some questions that might be of interest to you as the practitioner.  If you have any input, specifically in response to the following questions, please feel free to e-mail your response.   

     If you have any other prejudgment alimony issues please feel free to share.  

     Questions that we have:

    What do you find the most confusing about the current alimony statute as relate to prejudgment issues?

    What parts of the new alimony statute do you find most problematic when trying a case as relate to prejudgment issues?

    What issues have you encountered at the trial court level in litigating alimony matters as relate to prejudgment issues?"

    Without any doubt, the biggest problem with alimony litigation is unrealistic expectations on  either or both sides.
