    Hello Family Law Section members,

On Wednesday, March 13, NJICLE in cooperation with the NJSBA Cannabis Law Committee and New Jersey CPA Society will present the 1st Annual Cannabis Symposium from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Jersey Law Center.

On November 28, 2018, the New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and the New Jersey Assembly Budget Committee approved a bill that would legalize cannabis for personal use in New Jersey. At the time of publication of this ad, the bill heading to a vote of the entire New Jersey Legislature with approval and subsequent signature by the Governor is looking likely.

It is not an understatement that legalized cannabis will dramatically change the practice of law in New Jersey for many practitioners. This law will involve sweeping new changes, and will have wide-spread effects unlike anything experienced since the repeal of prohibition. These expansive and all-encompassing changes will affect attorneys in every area of law - from business to personal injury, family to insurance, banking and finance to criminal and municipal court, tax to health, real estate to labor and employment, zoning to insurance, and more.

With this in mind, NJICLE proudly presents the 1st Annual Cannabis Law Symposium. The symposium features an in-depth analysis of various areas of law related to cannabis use, sale and growth and its impact on your clients and your practice. As an attendee, you'll gain valuable insights, strategies for handling many of the new situations that will likely arise as the result of legalization and the very latest information from our expert moderators (Michael Schaff and Seth Tipton) and other respected New Jersey practitioners.
