Biography

William P. Isele is Of Counsel to the law firm of Archer & Greiner, P.C., in the Princeton office. He chaired the NJSBA Health & Hospital Law Section from 1989-1991, and the Elder & Disability Law Section from 2012-2013.

Mr. Isele was privileged to serve as New Jersey’s Ombudsman for the Institutionalized Elderly from October 1999 to October 2007. He also served as a member of the Health Law Division in the Office of General Counsel of the American Medical Association, in Chicago. Mr. Isele has significant experience in dealing with matters of bio-medical ethics, including end-of-life decision-making and issues related to palliative care. As Chair of the Health & Hospital Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, he was instrumental in advocating for the passage of the New Jersey Advance Directives for Health Care Act and the New Jersey Definition of Death Act in 1991. He also served as a member of the American Health Lawyers Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Service from 1992 - 2001, and is a member of the NJ Roster of Approved Mediators.

From 1987 to 1991, Mr. Isele served as an adjunct professor in the evening division of Seton Hall University School of Law. He has also served as an adjunct professor of Law and Ethics at DeVry University, and an adjunct lecturer in Health and Aging at Rutgers University school of Social Work.. Mr. Isele serves on the Boards of Trustees of the Middlesex County Bar Association (President, 2017-2018), the Middlesex County Bar Foundation (President, 2014-2015), LeadingAge NJ, and Central Jersey Legal Services. He is a former Trustee of the Princeton Senior Resource Center (President 2011-2013), and the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization,.

Mr. Isele received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Philosophy, with concentration in Ethics, from the Catholic University of America, and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
