The April edition of New Jersey Lawyer is dedicated to the emergence of artificial intelligence in the law and the many ways it can reach attorneys in practice.

The magazine, published by the New Jersey State Bar Association, features seven articles that explore a wide swath of issues which arise in the law office, the courts and in legal practice due to the evolution of AI. The articles, written by NJSBA past presidents, judges, experienced practitioners and AI experts, tackle AI’s role in bridging the access to justice gap, the technology’s impact on the Rules of Professional Conduct, AI in witness preparation and other timely topics.

The edition also features practice tips on improving legal writing by using the active voice and how to manage the endless stream of emails at work. NJSBA President William H. Mergner Jr. also reflects on the Association’s many achievements during his tenure – on attorney disbarment, referral fees and AI – in his final column as president.
