It is important to know what avenues are available to provide legal assistance to help people from countries like Iraq and Afghanistan where U.S. military operations have occurred.

The Supporting Military Allies program was held Thursday at the NJSBA Annual Meeting and Convention in Atlantic City. The panelists included Jeffrey DeCristofaro, Patrick Breslin, Yolanda Garcia Balicki, and Col. Sally Stenton.

The panel covered a wide range of topics, including different visas, resettlement concerns, what is required to apply for asylum, other immigration issues, the timelines that must be followed, how to handle extraordinary circumstances and family matters to be considered to help people who have come to the United States following military operations.
