Nearly four out of 10 households in New Jersey cannot afford basic necessities such as food, according to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). And the need for not just food—but healthy and nourishing food— is typically higher during the winter months. The pandemic has led to new struggles — job losses, business closures, kids learning from home — and sometimes when other bills need to be paid, food falls off the proverbial table.
More than 1.2 million New Jerseyans are food insecure (i.e. they don’t know where their next meal is coming from), and nearly 400,000 of them are children. The number of New Jerseyan who are food insecure has increased from 900,000 prior to the pandemic.
Your donation to Lawyers Feeding New Jersey (LFNJ) goes to CFBNJ, which works with more than 1,000 partner agencies to nourish our neighbors in need. Each year, there are more than 100 million meals that food insecure families would miss if not for the work of CFBNJ and other hunger relief organizations across the state.
CFBNJ is on track to distribute more than 80 million meals this fiscal year, which is nearly a 60% increase from our previous fiscal year’s budget. Your generous support on behalf of hungry New Jerseyans enables us to deliver these critical meals.
Just $1 provides three nutritious to our neighbors in need. Please make your donation through the Lawyers Feeding New Jersey site at give.cfbnj.org
