Lawyers and law firms can transition to a virtual working environment. However, the obligations of confidentiality and competence must be upheld. This requires that lawyers understand: 1. The technology that is being used 2. The threats to privacy and security that accompany that technology and 3. How to create an infrastructure that promotes efficiency and access. Lawyers must consider these issues while also protecting against employee error and technological risks. Rebecca Rakoski, the co-founder and Managing Partner of technology-focused XPAN Law Group, will provide you with guidelines for transitioning to a home working environment that meet your legal and ethical obligations. New Jersey Courtrooms went virtual beginning last week. This program will provide training on how to participate in virtual courtroom through Zoom. Judge Sohail Mohammed, J.S.C. has trained judges, attorneys, and staff since New Jersey Courts went virtual.  He will discuss real life scenarios as a participant in virtual courtroom. Scenarios such as conducting hearings, use of interpreters, etc.
