The newest leaders of the New Jersey State Bar Association's sections and committees got a crash course in how the organization works and what they need to know to have a successful term.

The group heard from NJSBA President Evelyn Padin about her goals for the year ahead, learned about association policies, found out the value of incorporating diversity and inclusion into their section or committee's efforts, and got advice from past chairs about how to make the most out of leading a NJSBA group.

The sections, committees and Young Lawyers Division are the lifeblood of the association, said Padin.

"Thank you for your service to the lawyers in your practice areas and the association. What you are doing is really critical and important work," said Padin. "You lead the groups that we look to for expertise and insights when it comes to legislative advocacy, whether to take an amicus role, or for determining policy positions of the association."
