Appellate Court Issues Opinion in Case Where NJSBA Appeared as Amicus Party

A state Appellate Division panel on Monday issued its opinion in Department of Children and Families v. L.O. The case focuses on whether fundamental fairness and due process require the appointment of counsel in administrative child abuse proceedings.

The panel did not agree with the NJSBA position that in such cases it was not required. The NJSBA will continue to monitor the case.
