What do an art historian, a mission worker, a comedian and a mindfulness expert have in common?
They are all experienced and successful attorneys who each found a passion outside of their work that actually helps them balance their professional lives.
At a seminar at the NJSBA Annual Meeting and Convention examining life After law, former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Helen E. Hoens said that while the panelists' interests diverged, the each found a passion that drives and balances their lives.
"All of us take our profession seriously. We have to, but that doesn't mean it is a good idea to let it turn into some overwhelming, driven existence. It does mean you find other pursuits, other things, other ways of following passions in your life, things that will give you a more balanced existence."
