The latest edition of NJSBA Sidebar is all about developing a personal and professional brand online.

Tune in as Emily Kelchen, treasurer of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, talks about how lawyers can build and protect their online reputations. It’s a topic she’ll be discussing at the upcoming Young Lawyers Symposium, which is this year part of the annual Solo and Small-Firm Conference. The event will be held Feb. 23 in Woodbridge.

Kelchen talks about why it’s important for attorneys to have an online profile as a part of their business plan and what considerations should be thought about when evaluating whether the time and effort put into them is worth it. She covers the differences in the kinds of content that should be posted on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. And she discusses whether an attorney should mix personal and professional posts in their feed.

Tune in to find out why signing up for social media is more like getting a free puppy than a free beer.
