The NJSBA Annual Meeting and Convention is renowned for the receptions and special events that offer participants memorable networking and experiences.

The three-day event features a handful of ticketed events that feature award presentations, and exclusive opportunities to hear and meet keynote speakers.

This year, the installation of officers and trustees will be held at the Music Box Theatre and every registrant is invited to attend. The event is free and the installation will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17. The installation marks the swearing-in of John E. Keefe Jr. as the 2018-2019 president of the association. Keefe will share his insights and goals for the year ahead.

In addition, the entire NJSBA executive committee and the newest members of the Board of Trustees will be given the oath of office.

The installation will be followed by a ticketed event that begins at 8:30 p.m. The Reception Honoring Newly Installed Officers and Trustees is an opportunity to offer a toast and enjoy an elegant hors d'oeuvres buffet to celebrate Keefe and bid a fond thank you to 2017-2018 President Robert B. Hille.

The 20th Annual Diversity Reception will feature keynote speaker Jarrett M. Adams, who was wrongfully convicted of sexual assault and served nearly 10 years before he was exonerated with the assistance of the Wisconsin Innocence Project. Adams became an advocate for the underserved and has since earned a law degree. The Mel Narol Excellence in Diversity Award will also be presented at the reception. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The Public Utility Law Section is scheduled to hold its annual luncheon on Friday, May 18 beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The Labor and Employment Law Section will hold its annual luncheon on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
