The NJSBA/NJICLE Workers’ Compensation Bench Bar Conference was back in person this week.
The program featured opening remarks by the Hon. Maria Del Valle Koch, the new director and Chief Judge of the state Division of Workers’ Compensation, who spoke about the state of the division and what practitioners and judges can expect moving forward.
The sessions focused on issues ranging from how the workers’ compensation community is grappling with the many components of COVID long-haul syndrome; what steps can be taken to include diversity and inclusion objectives in the practice and achieve the best outcomes for clients; and an update on conflicts of interest under Alam vs. Ameribuilt and legislative developments.
The event also included an awards ceremony where Gary E. Adams and Monique Moran were recognized for their bodies of work and involvement in the NJSBA’s Workers’ Compensation Section.
