Solo and Small-Firm attorneys make up the vast majority of lawyers in private practice in New Jersey. The NJSBA understands that the needs of solos and small-firms are different than those who work at larger firms, so we have a lot going on in the coming months to help solo and small firm attorneys get together, connect online, find useful continuing legal education, and share resources on running an efficient and effective law practice.
Networking events
Networking is definitely in the air for solos and small firm lawyers this August, September and October. In South Jersey, on Aug. 11 there is a networking reception and business card exchange at Harrah’s in Atlantic City. On Sept. 14, NJ Sharing Network is sponsoring a healthy happy hour for NJSBA members at their offices in New Providence. On Sept. 21, members near Mercer County can enjoy the networking reception and business card exchange at Investors Bank in Robbinsville.
On Oct. 5, get ready for the NJSBA Annual Fall Open House and Networking Reception at the New Jersey Law Center. Come out and meet NJSBA leadership, hear about the benefits of section and committee membership, learn about ways to become involved like working on legislation or participating in amicus cases on behalf of the association.
Solo and Small-Firm Section Meetings
Dedicated to the unique needs of solo and small firm practitioners, the Solo and Small-Firm Section holds business meetings with a CLE component focused on topics of interest to the group. The next meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 22 on Ethical and Practical Considerations in Time Management for Lawyers. NJSBA members can attend one meeting if they are not a member of a specific section or committee in order to see the value offered by membership in that group.
