NJSBA accepting Pro Bono Award nominations

The deadline to submit nominations for the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee’s 2022 annual awards has been extended through August. The Pro Bono Awards recognize members of the New Jersey legal profession who have an outstanding commitment to providing legal services to the state’s underserved residents. Notable contributions to pro bono initiatives, as well as the extent to which the nominee provided direct pro bono assistance, will be considered for each award category.

The awards are:

• Champion of Justice Award: Recognizes an individual attorney from a solo or small firm, a medium-sized firm and a large firm.
• Pillar of Justice Award: Recognizes significant and innovative pro bono contributions of law firms toward advancing access to justice.
• Distinguished Attorney Award: Recognizes an attorney in practice for 10 years or less.
• Lifetime Achievement: Recognizes an attorney in practice for 25 years or more.
• Mark Daniel Excellence in Pro Bono Award: This award recognizes exemplary pro bono efforts of corporate legal departments.
• Outstanding Law Student Award: The award recognizes a law student who has excelled in supporting pro bono or legal aid programs for underserved communities.
