Reputable London Entertainment Law Firm Breaches Confidence of Harry Potter Author

By Stacey Lee Trien, Esq posted 08-01-2013 10:01 AM

London's powerhouse entertainment law firm, Russells, admitted that one of its partners inadvertently revealed that J.K. Rowling authored the mystery novel, The Cuckoo’s Calling.  Specifically, Russells partner, Chris Gossage, let the information leak to his wife’s best friend, Judith Callegari, who then tweeted the information.

Reportedly, Rowling authored the book under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.  Russells has since released a statement to  “apologize unreservedly” to Rowling. The firm further indicated that while the loose-lipped partner was culpable, “the disclosure was made in confidence to someone he trusted implicitly.”

Rowling countered by indicating her anger and utter disappointment in Russells' breach of her confidence. She stated that “only a tiny number of people knew my pseudonym and it has not been pleasant to wonder for days how a woman whom I had never heard of prior to Sunday night could have found out something that many of my oldest friends did not know.”

Needless to say, sales of The Cuckoo's Calling have since skyrocketed.
