The meeting will feature a CLE program, led by James Maynard, Esq., Chair of the newly established Megan's Law Subcommittee of the Criminal Law Section, this program is designed to provide an overview of the handling of Megan's Law cases for the average criminal practitioner.  The program will include tips on avoiding common Megan's Law pitfalls in the negotiation of sexual offense plea agreements, as well as a review of the Attorney General Guidelines for the Implementation of the Sex Offender Registration and Community Supervision Laws.
Recent pending legislation, of importance to criminal practitioners, both defense and prosecutors, will be presented for discussion and for voting as to the Criminal Law Section's recommendations to the NJSBA Board of Trustees as to what action the Board should take in these matters.
