Keefe, Jr., moderator.

In this joint educational session, John E. Keefe, Jr., President of the New Jersey State Bar Association, will introduce the Opioid Crisis in the US: The pharmacology of opiates, how the heroin abuse epidemic started, and the current litigation climate.
Elaine Durkas, Director of Human Resources at Fusion Employment Services LLC, will continue the session with a presentation on how substance abuse in the workplace results in increased absenteeism, diminished productivity, on-the-job accidents, and other liabilities. Learn how to identify and respond to substance abuse in the workplace, and how to remain compliant concerning drug testing, accommodations, and leaves of absence.
