About The Program:

With a disproportionally large segment of the U.S. population approaching their “advanced” years, the legal practice of Elder Law will continue to have an influx of new clients. But what exactly is “Elder Law”? Opinions will vary but most all agree that it includes areas of estate planning (including special needs concepts), litigation and administration; Guardianships of Incapacitated Persons and Public Benefits. This program is designed to give the practitioner a foundation in these areas upon which to further develop and build your practice.

Topics of discussion include:
Asset Protection Planning for Long-Term Care: Get the latest update on the new income
rules for Medicaid. Are annuities viable planning tools? Learn to avoid costly mistakes.
Guardianships: Tips to smooth out the process. Know when a limited guardianship is your
best approach.
Estate Planning & Administration: How to use a Will as a planning tool for asset protection.
Guide your clients through a painless estate administration process.
Special Needs Trusts: Why are they so complicated? How do first party and third party
trusts impact government benefits?
