Annual Military Law Symposium
This year’s event produced in cooperation with the NJSBA’s Military Law Section, will enable attorneys throughout New Jersey to have the opportunity to hear from nationally regarded presenters at the symposium.

The symposium topics will include:
• Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act
• Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve
• Veteran diversionary programs
• Family law as it pertains to military personnel
              ... and more

Veterans Accreditation
The Veterans Accreditation portion will present an overview of benefits available for Veterans through the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs. This program will examine eligibility criteria for service connected disability benefits and VA pension. This course meets the requirements for VA Accreditation pursuant to 38 C.F.R. § 14.629. The focus is on attorneys helping our Veterans, active duty military, reserves and national guard get the benefits they deserve.

Attorneys have always been able to assist Veterans at the Court, but in June 2007, the law changed to allow attorney representation at the administrative level. This program will offer practitioners the opportunity to learn how to help Veterans appeal denials and obtain benefits at any level. Attorneys can charge a reasonable fee, which is normally 20% of past benefits, at the agency.

Become Accredited:
You must be accredited with the Veterans Administration before you can help veterans. The application deadline was in July. Even in you are not approved, you can still attend the program.
