Social Security Practice: Understanding SSI and SSDI Claims

When:  Oct 20, 2015 from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM (ET)

What you learn at this program can prepare you to accept clients seeking benefits, and/or enhance your skills and knowledge if you are already practicing in this area of law.

Social Security benefits are not only for the elderly. They are also available for millions of other people who qualify for disability benefits from the Social Security Administration. These payments are based either on their earnings or their spouse’s or parents’ earnings under Social Security, or from the Federal Welfare program (Supplemental Security Income /SSI).

How do people qualify for benefits, and what do you need to know to help your clients receive their share?

This fundamental new program will prepare you to identify individuals who may be entitled to Social Security benefits. The speakers will guide you in processing the application, take you through the appellate process, and show you how to proceed when benefits are denied. You’ll also explore situations in which attorneys not experienced in this area often risk their clients’ rights by not pursuing a claim under the Social Security Act.

Learn everything you need to know to confidently handle social security & disability benefits matters, including:
• The difference between Social Security benefits and SSI benefits
