For the fall opening meeting of the Dispute Resolution Section, Bonnie Blume Goldsamt and Robert E. Margulies will present a lively, informative and interactive program on “Mediation, A Brief History and a Vision for the Future.”
Bonnie’s topic is Divorce Mediation: Where we’ve been; where we are; and where we are going. From a historical perspective, Bonnie will examine the field of divorce mediation in the United States and here in New Jersey. Next, she will focus on the current status of divorce mediation in New Jersey and nationally, including current trends and how they affect how we all practice. Finally, Bonnie will share her vision of the future of divorce mediation in New Jersey.
Bob will focus on civil mediation:
He will share the history of civil mediation in the US, starting with the Pound Conference in 1976 and how NJ created CDR and their programs to the present. Bob will prognosticate our future as a Profession, both domestically and internationally and suggest ways you can mold your practice to be a part of the exciting future of Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR), where court litigation is the real alternative to resolving disputes in the world of “litigotiation”.
