Hot Topics in Immigration Law For LGBT Clients

Description:

In the realm of LGBT rights, some countries have taken steps forward; some countries have taken steps backward, including the United States. These changes present unique obstacles for LGBT and other social groups (such as those who are HIV positive or advocate on behalf of those who are) in relation to U.S. immigration.  This seminar will provide you with a general overview of the current challenges LGBT clients and other social groups face, especially those who come from countries currently experiencing war or political strife. Our panelists will provide you with strategies to recognize these unique LGBT issues in the immigration arena, including asylum, detention and other processes with examples from specific nationalities and cultures.
