2015 First Annual End of Life Conference

When:  Oct 5, 2015 from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM (ET)
Modern medicine and health care has made advanced care planning a necessity of life. Lawyers are in the best situation possible to provide clients whether institutions or individuals with the counselling, advice, and tools to make certain that the will of the patient is clear and every eventuality has been planned for. This program, the first of its kind in New Jersey, will bring together experts in the field to advise lawyers of the medical and legal challenges that presently exist.

Join for this brand new program and hear from experts as they examine various scenarios and offer an assessment from points of view of the individual and the health care provider. This will be followed by a discussion of the legal tools presently available in New Jersey to accomplish these efforts including the advanced health care directive, the durable power of attorney, physician orders for life sustaining treatment, and do not resuscitate orders. Finally, the conference will conclude with a discussion of treatment, organ donation, brain death, and a review of end of life issues on the horizon in New Jersey.
