The members and leaders of the NJSBA’s Diversity Committee came together recently for a day-long retreat.
The June 30 event began with yoga, which led into substantive group discussions on how to accelerate diversity, overcome obstacles and create an action plan, and wrapped up with a dinner.
The primary objectives were to allow attendees to get to know each other better and bond with the shared purpose of accelerating diversity; review past accomplishments and set new goals; discuss obstacles and figure out what is needed to ensure progress; and discuss the committee’s schedule and events for the year ahead.
