Cyber Security and Breach Concerns for Health Care Providers and Suppliers

The healthcare industry has been hit hard by ransomware attacks. Hospital and other health care provider data remain vulnerable to ransomware and other forms of cyber security incidents. Join the Health Law Section to explore how to help your clients understand and manage cyber security risks and ransomware attacks. The program will examine ransomware and other cyber security incidents within the HIPAA “breach” notification requirements, focusing on recent breach trends, including moving from exfiltration to ransomware. The program will also focus on common risks and vulnerabilities, procedures, technical issues and employee training within the HIPAA Security Rule framework.
